An absolutely stunning and very uncommon 1940s Italian Murano hand-blown green glass table lamp with gold leaf accents on a turned wood mahogany base.

Inverted balloon-shaped body presents from a distance as olive green, and features a shimmering and entrancing gold leaf-infused diamond pattern with copper flecks that calls to mind snake or serpent scales, or more fantastically—yet perhaps most accurately—a dragon egg. When closely examined, however, or when viewed with it lit brightly from behind, the actual brilliant emerald green color of the glass is beautifully revealed.

Body has a clear glass multi-lobed foot that stands on a very handsome turned wood mahogany base. Brass, copper, and metal fittings, and brass socket and three-way switch, are original. Cord and brass harp and finial are likely original, or at the very least, vintage.

Dimensions, base diameter and height to top of finial.
Height: 32.5 in Diameter: 8 in
Diameter of body is 7.63 in. Height to top of body is 18.5 in., and height to top of socket is 22 in.

Condition: Good Wear consistent with age and use. In very good vintage condition. Glass looks great. Wood has a few areas that are slightly more faded or dull from age/sunlight; could likely be mostly corrected by application of a restorative finish product. Metal elements have patina and tarnish.
