A circa 18th century Chinese Ming dynasty-style equestrian form glazed pottery roof tile.

Classic figural depiction of a proud celestial warrior on horseback, hand-crafted of earthenware or terracotta and finished in a sancai-style glaze with predominant emerald green and cream tones and brown accents.

Holes in hands would’ve held a metal weapon and/or pennant, no longer extant. A striking and substantial rendering of an iconic roof tile design synonymous with the Ming—and later Qing—dynasties. Has a regal presence, and displays great authentic antique weathered character from top to bottom.
