Charles Hollis Jones Lucite and Chrome Circular Side Table or End Table, 1970s

$1,350.00

A fabulous 1970s Hollywood Regency-meets-Minimalist lucite and chrome side table or end table with glass top by Charles Hollis Jones. A trio of crystal clear 1.63 in. sq. lucite columns is connected via two pair of chrome-finish concentric semi-circle stretcher elements with polished nickel acorn nut fasteners. They’re positioned in a very clever and atypical asymmetrical manner that gives the piece a striking modernist sculptural look. Features its original .5 inch-thick round glass top with polished flat edge. With one exception, we’ve only ever seen this table—and other sizes and shapes in the line—done in brass, making the chrome version offered here a rare iteration of an already rather uncommon design. Dimensions overall…: Height: 21.25 in  Diameter: 26.25 in  Base is H 20.75 in. x Dia. 18 in. (not including nuts.)   Condition: Good Replacements made: Original acorn nuts with age-dulled finish were replaced with new polished nickel ones of identical design that perfectly match the finish of the chrome elements. Additions or alterations made to the original: We’ve affixed extra-thin clear rubber pads to the top and bottom of each lucite column to prevent further wear. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor crazing near top of two columns; small, faint scratches near a few attachment points; scuffs on top/bottom of columns; tiny “bruise” on a bottom corner; a few fleabites. Two end caps attached a bit crooked. Glass has a couple faint scratches.
