Knut Sæter for Vatne Møbler Rosewood and Upholstery Lounge Chair, 1976

A very handsome 1976 rosewood and upholstery model 934 low-back lounge chair by Knut Sæter for Vatne Møbler of Norway, and originally retailed by Copenhagen in San Francisco.

Features a solid rosewood frame with distinctive and sculptural waterfall or wave crest arms. Displays excellent craftsmanship and wonderfully subtle and well-considered lines throughout.

Dressed in its original butter-colored slub-weave “Jostedal Beige” upholstery, named after a Norwegian glacier that’s the largest in continental Europe. Clean and usable, but probably ready for an easy refresh to suit one’s taste and décor.

Wear consistent with age and use. Frame: Very good; a few tiny marks; only notable mark is on right arm, where it appears that a watch band or bracelet caused some light wear and tiny dings over time. Upholstery: cleaned; shows age and wear; faint spot of seat; foam is decent.
