A very dapper and uncommon 1950s bottle-shaped ceramic table lamp with white ribbed body and black tapered neck.

Handsome lines, perfect proportions, and a Truman Capote-approved black and white color scheme call to mind a natty bowtie and tuxedo shirt ensemble. White slightly tapered bottle-shaped body with vertical ribs or fins is topped by a black inverse-tapered neck. Both sections finished in satin glazes bordering on semi-matte that have a super subtle yet sumptuous sheen.

Original brass finish fittings, harp, and finial. Original cord and plug with newer brass finish two-way socket that works great. Bottom fully dressed in what appears to be fresh felt. Ready for a new shade of the buyer’s choosing.

Believed to be of United States origin, though it could possibly be from Denmark or Sweden instead—we’ve seen mid-century ceramic table lamps with a similar look and immaculate execution from those countries as well.

Height to top of socket;
23.88 in Diameter: 5.63 in
height to top of neck is 19.75 inches.

Condition: Good
Refinished. Rewired: Two-way socket appears to be more recent, while cord and plug appear to be original. Wear consistent with age and use. In very good vintage condition. Body and neck are in great shape, with no notable signs of age or use. Fittings, harp, and finial show some age, with a varied amount of light patina and tarnish. Cord and plug show some age, but are in usable shape.
