A circa 1980 limited edition signed and numbered gold foil embossed serigraph titled “Kings of Jerusalem” by renowned Israeli artist Moshe Castel (b. 1909–1991), professionally framed. A large and beautifully designed work of Judaica that features a striking abstract depiction of the kings of Jerusalem in embossed gold foil that dances upon a deep blue field as it liquidly catches the light. In the background is a historical map or manuscript-style illustration of the Holy City of Jerusalem and its denizens, rendered in exceptionally fine detail that repeatedly rewards those who linger for a closer look. Numbered “97/250” at lower left, and signed “Castel” at lower right, both in pencil by the artist. Presented in its original professionally done brass frame with complimentary blue mat and gold trim under acrylic glazing. From a well-researched artist bio: “Born to a Rabbinic family in 1909, Moshe Castel was accepted into the Bezalel Art School aged just 13. After four years he moved to Paris, where he worked and studied for 13 years before returning to Israel and the mystical holy city of Safed in Norther Israel. His vibrant work uses unusual media to create exceptional pieces depicting Bible stories, Sephardic culture, and life in Israel.
