Pair of Bamboo Side Tables with Woven Cane Herringbone Pattern Tops, c. 1970

A very nice pair of circa 1970 bamboo side tables or end tables with distinctive herringbone pattern woven cane tops.

Hand-crafted natural bamboo frames feature hand-woven and wrapped cane accents throughout. Notable for attractive and less commonly seen tops with a herringbone pattern of exactingly executed hand-woven approximately half-inch-wide cane. Uniformly toned slightly darker top on one, and a variegated lighter and slightly darker toned top on the other.

Tables have a great boho chic vibe that would look right at home in a beach front, tropical, or tiki-inspired interior, as well as out on a covered patio or lanai.

Wear consistent with age and use. Some small and minor marks and scuffs. Some naturally occurring black spots and abscesses, most notably on one leg. Natural color variation in wrapped and woven cane elements, with some being lighter or a few with loss of warmer toned lacquer finish.
