Rare pair of 1950s black lacquered high-back upholstered lounge chairs by Dan Johnson for Selig.
Features elegantly tapered opposing curvilinear lines with a distinctive yet timeless mid-century modern aesthetic. High back with fin-like slats invites a 360 degree view. Accented by brass rod side stretchers.
Cushions recently redone in a soft, sandy-colored upholstery. Attached headrest has dual button details on both sides. Seats supported by original woven wide leather straps.
A very handsome example of Dan Johnson’s influential approach to Danish modern seating design, made all the more special by being a very seldom seen matching pair.
