An exceptionally handsome pair of teak No. 52 compass-leg armchairs with black faux leather upholstery by Erik Kirkegaard for Høng Stolefabrik. Originally designed in the late 1940s, these date from the 1960s.

Incredibly well crafted, with solid teak compass-style legs supporting a strikingly sculptural and substantial cantilevered solid teak and teak veneer bentwood back with wrap-around arms. Low-profile broad, curved seat features original black faux-leather upholstery.

An eye-catching and iconic Danish modern design with a distinctive and commanding presence that would nicely complement similarly-styled seating by Kirkegaard contemporary Erik Buch.
