Pair of Gasser “California Cocktail Lounge” Vinyl & Aluminum Side Chairs, 1960 ***SOLD***

A fabulous pair of very uncommon circa 1960 orange & gold vinyl and brushed aluminum model L-90 side chairs by the Gasser Chair Co. from their “California Cocktail Lounge” line. The epitome of classic American mid-century modern style, featuring nearly-pristine faux-brocade vinyl upholstery in raised orange against a metallic gold background. Intricate pattern has a jacquard-like woven texture that boasts both tactile and visual appeal, with a pixelated look that gives it entrée to a more modern aesthetic. Broad, curved back is joined to the 18.75-inch-wide seat by a striking six-inch-wide brushed aluminum support that sets it apart from similar designs. Stands on brushed aluminum square tubular legs with self-leveling feet. Underside is marked “California Cocktail Lounge – Model No. L-90 – Gasser Chair Co., Inc. – Youngstown 5, Ohio – Quality Aluminum Furniture”. Dimensions: Height: 29 in Width: 19.63 in Depth: 19.75 in Seat Height: 17.75 in Condition: Good Wear consistent with age and use. In great vintage condition. Upholstery shows almost no signs of age or use. Some tiny and light scuffs, nicks, and a couple scratches to legs, primarily near feet.
